BSF Formula Page

BioSuperfood and BioPreparation formulas are powerful detoxifiers. Unless there is an immediate health crisis that requires a high dose, start with a very small amount (as much as fits on the flat end of a toothpick), and gradually work up to 1-2 capsules per day for most animals. Too much can cause diarrhea, vomiting, skin rash, sinus congestion, or other discharge reactions associated with detoxification.

Give BSF or BP by opening the capsule and mixing a small amount of the concentrated powder with the animal's food--canned or homemade food is best, but meat baby food or other treat foods can also be used. For horses, add to mash, grain, or sweet feed.

Cats

We start many cats on the human formula, BSF-F2 because it is the gentlest. This is the best formula for general maintenance, and mild-moderate health issues, such as gingivitis, urinary tract inflammation,chronic upper respiratory issues, asthma, and similar problems.

For serious or immediate health issues, the BSF-F3 and BP-3 formulas have more antioxidants and is more powerful than any of the other formulas. This formula should be used for issues such as kidney failure, liver failure, inflammatory bowel disease, and cancer.

In general, the BP pet formulas are quite strong, but they can be used safely as long as caution is observed by not giving too much at once. You will still start very slowly, but in critical cases you will have to increase as quickly as possible without causing unmanageable reactions.

Dogs

Dogs can usually handle the BP pet formulas quite well (although the BSF human formulas are just as good, and a bit less expensive). Because a dog's digestive system is less sensitive than a cat's, dogs can start with a little more (1/4 - 1/2 capsule).

For mild-moderate health problems, choose BP F2+, and for more serious or immediately life-threatening problems use BP F3+.

Large dogs can handle a larger amount, but it is rarely necessary to use more than 3-4 capsules per day, even in giant breed dogs. The maintenance dose is 1-2 capsules per day.

Horses

Despite their size, most horses do not need massive doses of BSF or BP. They generally do well on a similar dose (1-4 capsules a day) as large dogs.
